Freshman Matthew Kolodzik, the top seed in the 141-pound weight class, will face 12th-seeded Chad Red of Nebraska Saturday morning in the first semifinal of the 54th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. Teammate Brett Harner is still alive to place for a second straight year, though the fourth seed fell 5-2 in the quarterfinal to fifth-seeded Kevin Beazley of Old Dominion.

Those two will represent the Princeton wrestling team Friday during the final day of the Midlands Championships, which will begin at 1 pm ET and be streamed live on BigTen2Go; the finals will be held at 8 pm ET on the Big Ten Network.

Kolodzik, who reached the 2015 Midlands semifinals while he deferred admission to Princeton, opened his tournament with a first-period fall over Oklahoma's Noah Teaney, and he followed with a 13-1 major decision over Arizona State's Nicholas Villarreal. He faced eighth-seeded Luke Pletcher of Ohio State in the quarterfinal and picked up a 9-3 major decision to set up his semifinal with Red, who defeated two higher seeds en route to his semifinal appearance.

Princeton has never had a Midlands champion, though teammate Jonathan Schleifer became Princeton's first finalist last year; Schleifer missed the 2016 Midlands Championships due to injury.

Harner had three victories Thursday, including two by fall in the first period, but he couldn't get his offense going against Beazley in his quarterfinal loss.

Both Jordan Laster (149) and Ian Baker (184) reached Session II, but both fell and were eliminated from the draw.
